Crytek’s groundbreaking CryENGINE^® technology is being used to create Monster Hunter Online; a major new collaboration between Tencent Games and Capcom that will see the popular Monster Hunter series released on Windows platforms in a whole new form.

As a PC-exclusive installment in the hit Monster Hunter franchise, Monster Hunter Online will give millions of new players the chance to experience the Japanese phenomenon. The MMOACT (Massively Multiplayer Online Action game) will contain Monster Hunter’s trademark blend of vast environments, awe-inspiring fantasy creatures and in-depth customization options.

Michael McMain loves magic. You might not catch him pulling rabbits out of hats or asking you to ‘pick a card’, but for the last year he’s been deep in the process of conjuring up a new IP that he hopes will rip up the rulebook on how players experience the finer points of sorcery in gaming.

Lichdom, the first game from the Xaviant studio that McMain heads up, is a first-person RPG set in an alternative world. At the heart of that world is a rich lore built squarely around what the game’s architect summarizes as an “epic mage experience”.

Crytek’s free-to-play FPS, Warface, is celebrating a successful first year online in Russia. Published in partnership with Mail.Ru, the 12 months since the game went live have seen nine million players sign up to get in on the action.

With over two million users regularly heading online to play Warface, the game has enjoyed record-breaking growth across Russia. Over the last 365 days, players have seen the arrival of scores of new weapons, the addition of female character skins and exclusive country-specific features, such as Russian-themed outfits and items.

While 95% of those registered to play on Mail.Ru’s servers are located in Russia, the game also welcomed players based in Belarus, Kazakhstan and beyond.The smallestcontribution to the impressive overall figures came from Zimbabwe, where two brave players signed up to enter the fray in Warface.

The presentation reveals intricate technical and authoring details about AMD's "Project Phoenix" developed in collaboration with Illfonic and Crytek. This project is a showcase of real-time next-generation graphics running on AMD Graphics Core Next architecture.

Crytek GmbH’s free-to-play FPS, Warface, will go offline on Wednesday 10^th of April, at 17:00 PDT, for an extended period of server downtime. The game is set to be fine-tuned based on the positive feedback of players who have been participating in Closed Beta testing.

Thanks to the contribution of those players and feedback gathered through multiple channels, a firm foundation has been put in place on which the Warface development team will build from while the game is offline. The overall result will be to ensure that Crytek’s delivery of the free Warface game service is the best it can possibly be going forward.

Crytek and Trion would like to thank Warface players everywhere for their ongoing support and are looking forward to welcoming them back online when the game returns. Over the period during which Warface is offline, the GFACE Closed Beta service will continue to operate as usual. Future communications will provide details of when Warface is set to become playable again.
