FPS fans in Korea are being invited to take part in the country’s first closed beta test for explosive new Crytek shooter, Warface.
The Nexon Korea Corporation, who hold publishing rights for Warface in South Korea and Taiwan, are inviting gamers to get in on the action from September 13th-16th by signing up for the closed beta test at their official registration site. Registration will be open from today until September 12th, with a draw determining who will be first players to set foot on the game’s breathtaking battlefields.
Nexon’s Publishing Division Manager Hanseo Jo believes, participants will like what they see: “With a solid background story and inventive take on the genre, Warface will make a strong impact on Korea’s FPS market. We hope users will make the most of this unique chance to participate in the process.”
Korean gamers aged 18 and over can find out more about joining the closed beta test through Nexon’s Warface website.
Two Crytek games have been nominated for prizes in the 2012 Golden Joystick Awards, and only your votes can propel them to victory!
Crysis 3 is among the finalists in the Golden Joysticks’ One to Watch category, while our debut mobile game, Fibble – Flick ‘n’ Roll, is nominated for Best Mobile/Tablet game. Visit the official website for the Golden Joystick Awards to cast your vote for both games and help them on their way.
The Golden Joysticks have been running since 1982, and winners at this year’s event will be determined entirely by public voting and announced at a ceremony in London on 26th October.
Crytek’s free-to-play shooter leaves its mark with industry experts
Cologne (Germany) August 24, 2012 – Crytek’s free-to-play shooter, Warface®, yesterday received the 2012 gamescom award for Best Social/Casual/Online Game. The award, determined by an independent panel of international judges, was one of just seven official gamescom awards given out to pay homage to the best games and products premiered at the show.
“We’re excited that Warface has been recognised with this award,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO and founder of Crytek. “At its core, Warface is a new social first-person shooter experience that invites players and their friends of all levels to come together and discover Crytek quality for free. Scheduled to enter its Beta testing phase in Europe and North America this Fall, Warface will be accessed via social hub GFACE at launch, providing players with exciting new ways to interact as they discover the PC game’s challenging competitive and co-operative online multiplayer modes.
