Warface.com, the official web site for Crytek’s first free social FPS Service Warface, opens today for closed beta sign-ups and gives everyone interested the possibility to reserve their unique Warface ID. A new trailer – which shows the different classes - is also live on the site. The closed beta date isn’t set yet but will be announced during 2012.

Nexon Korea Corporation (“Nexon”) announced today that Nexon and Crytek GmbH (“Crytek”) signed a publishing deal for Crytek’s next- generation online first-person shooter (FPS) game, “Warface.” With this agreement, Nexon obtained the publishing license of “Warface” for South-Korea and Taiwan and will operate and market the game. “Warface” is Crytek’s first online FPS and is based on Crytek’s critically acclaimed CryENGINE® 3 game development solution. The game offers next generation visuals, AI and physics in a near-future military setting.
In line with the first annual awards show yesterday evening at the Cantor Film Center in New York City, the New York Videogame Critics Circle awarded Crysis 2 with the Manhattan Award for Most New York-centric Game.

The service is now open for registrations for its closed beta phase. Next to its social media features GFACE is designed to enable its users to play games together live and to discover and live-share entertainment content with friends. Currently the service is being tested with a limited amount of participants for enhancing, simplifying, and polishing the user experience. More users will be invited soon.
